Cannabis Sativa L - The Herb of Balance
What if I told you your body was actually created with an Endocannabinoid system that supports our Endocrine system to prevent and heal disease? For those “CannaNewbies” - the Endocannabinoid system (ECS) was only discovered in the past 20 years or so. This means you were born with Cannabinoid receptors - just like you were born with Estrogen receptors - and, additionally, get ready for it - your body naturally produces Cannabinoids (just like the plant produces the Phytocannabinoid’s CBD and THC molecules)! Cannabinoids are a very rare thing to find in nature, so the fact we have receptors for this very molecule speaks for itself. It is also a very important system that supports the Endocrine system. Unfortunately in mainstream medical schools this crucial supportive system is not currently recognized or taught to our upcoming physicians, but guess I am not surprised knowing major pharmaceutical companies are primary sponsors and financial contributors to those institutions.
Actually, every animal on this planet all the way down to a sea squirt has an Endocannabinoid system, except for insects. Receptors are found throughout your body. Primarily CB1 receptors are located in the brain and on the spine, and CB2 receptors are found in the gut, and on our internal organs, and play a significant part in our immunity system within the blood system.
The two most well known Cannabinoid neuro-transmitters we create are Anandamide (largely found in the uterus) and 2-AG - which can actually be found in breast milk and helps babies to relax. Cannabis has powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties.
It is evidentially and scientifically clear our bodies were created to utilize this very complex amazing life saving plant, and research is now showing many of the chronic illnesses and diseases such as Migraines, Fibromyalgia, MS, Alzheimers and Parkinson’s are actually related to Endocannabinoid system deficiencies! It is a proven Cancer killer, seizure eliminator, major player in building and maintaining our immunity, and, learned I did myself a tremendous favor by unknowingly treating my Celiac disease with Medical Cannabis. Many Celiac patients have claimed it has actually cured their disease which makes complete sense as there is a substantial presence of CB2 receptors in the gut and Cannabis has such powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
States that have legal Medical Cannabis programs in place statistically have on average of a 25% reduction in Opiod deaths - up to 33% if the state allows recreational use! These are staggering statistics not to be ignored! If used together and responsibly, Cannabis actually reduces the amount of Opiods a patient must take as it enhances the medications synergistically and reduces the risk of unintentional overdoses. It is physically impossible to die from the use of Cannabis as it does not have the ability to stop the heart or respiratory system like Opiods do, so, there has never been a documented death in the history of mankind from Cannabis. It is NOT a gateway drug (that would actually be alcohol) since we have the internal Endocannabinoid system, and is actually used synergistically with great success to wean addicts off the heavy deadly drugs. We have many ways to heal naturally versus those dangerous synthetic pharmaceuticals that are passed out like candy to children by conventional physicians.
Industrial Hemp and Medical Cannabis are from the same Cannabis Sativa L family, but is like comparing Mini Horses to Draft Horses - both are horses, but have very different genetics. Hemp for centuries has been used for Naval roping, paper & clothing fiber (the Declaration of Independence was written on Hemp, and Betsy Ross sewed our country’s first flag out of Hemp), healthy nutrition, plastic and steel alternatives (which greatly reduces the need for petroleum), and the most well known now, CBD oil. It is also a highly sustainable crop that far surpasses the logging industry and is a powerful bioremediator - meaning it helps remove toxins from the soil. Hemp has little to no THC - (THC is the lipid terpene molecule which provides pain relief without any possibility of death or addiction, restful sleep, and is the psychoactive component. Hemp THC levels are normally way below point 3%).
While folks receive noticeable relief from quality organic Hemp CBD (Cannabidiol) oil, which is usually extracted from hemp seeds (currently legal in 48 states - except Ohio as of 9/18 and Alabama as of 11/18), Medical Cannabis CBD oil (currently legal in 46 states) is more effective than Hemp CBD oil. Medical Cannabis though, is by far the preferred choice medically and is the plant that contains both CBD and THC above point 3%, of which both CBD and THC molecules are required to create the desired healing “entourage effect” - both molecules partnering up and working scientifically documented most effectively synergistically. But, both Hemp and Medical Cannabis CBD oils alone must contain less than point 3% THC in order to be sold legally where Medical Cannabis with THC above point 3% is not legal. It literally makes one’s head spin.
Hemp and Medical Cannabis are personalized medicine and each person will react and respond differently than anyone else so it is important to journal while experimenting with the complex strains, flavonoids, and terpenes to discover what works best for you and your body - the key being to avoiding an unpleasant experience - always starting out low (THC) and slow - less is more. To use this plant medicine with respect and responsibility. Equal ratios of CBD to THC will cut the psychoactivity of the THC. Both, are needed to eradicate cancer.
Something else important to pass along is what I learned in what has become a favorite read and tremendous resource of mine is a book by Dr. Anthony Jay - “Estrogeneration - How Estrogenics Are Making You Fat, Sick, and Infertile”. I actually reached out to Dr. Jay at the Mayo Clinic to receive clarification on something he had written - he assured me he was a tremendous supporter of Medical Cannabis but advised against smoking it suggesting other delivery methods such as vaporizing, oil tinctures, or edibles. He explained in the book during the combustion process from plant to smoke, the molecular structure of Medical Cannabis changes to a Phytoestrogen. This means you are inhaling an Estrogenic which can trick your Estrogen receptors into believing it is an Estrogen molecule and can stick to the receptor, processed, and stored in your fat for a very long time. This actually goes for inscensing Lavender essential oils too - these Estrogenics molecules can concentrate in your lungs! A few other well known Estrogenics are Soy, Atrazine, Parabens, Phalates, EE2’s (from birth control which is eliminated and then recycled into our our drinking water source and can ONLY be removed through charcoal filtration), and BPA’s. Too many Estrogenics stored in your body, depending on your environmental toxic burden, can create some serious health issues!
